Good Places to Get Your Feminist Fix? (Discussion)

So, when the patriarchy is getting you down, where do you go for a good laugh or a kick of righteous rage to get you through the day?

My favorites so far: Bitch magazine (www.bitchmagazine.com) – a feminist response to pop culture feministing (www.feministing.com) – blog for young feminist women

The Vagina Monologues. Reading it, acting in it or watching it performed. It’s very powerful and inspiring.

I enjoy Jezebel (www.jezebel.com), especially because it shows that you can be politically-minded while enjoying popular culture and less weighty issues at the same time!

I reread “Cunt” by Inga Muscio. Or “Granny D: A Memoir” of Doris Haddock written with her 63-year old son, Dennis Burke.

The first is a young woman’s brave declaration of independence. The second is a description of Granny D’s 3400 mile walk across the US at age 90 to raise hell about campaign finance reform in the US.

Granny D’s website is inspirational: http://www.grannyd.com

Inga has made a website of her own now, too: http://www.ingalagringa.com/

Spoken poetry by “Yellow Rage”. It’s a double whammy – feminism and racism at the same time.

Inform me of the rationale if I’m missing it, but isn’t calling it “bitch magazine” just giving chauvinists fodder for their stereotyping? Shouldn’t we be promoting gender equality as something constructive and mutually beneficial, not something antagonistic? I believe it is the first two, and I think most of you would agree.
